WWII Propaganda

The purpose of this poster is to is to convince women to get a job instead of staying at home waiting for their men to come home. It also leans them towards jobs in the government or war. Symbols that are used in this poster would be the woman herself and the flag in the background. The intended audience for this poster was probably middle age women. Although it could have worked for women of all ages. It might have appealed even men who could not go to war and need something to do to help their country. The poster hopes that the audience who ever that might be, will go see their U.S. Employment Service and get a job for the governemnt or helping the war efforts. I find this poster persuasive because it shows a nicley dressed and nice looking women who looks like a professional which is what many people can look up to as a type of role model and go a do what the poster says just so they can be like her. It is like any poster today with a good looking person doing something new, it makes everyone who sees it want to do the same thing too. It also works for clothes and food products and that is why I think this is a persuasive poster because it can appeal to any one who wants to be like her; the good looking professional and powerful women who has a job.
